When God Says Go
"Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind… The Israelites went through the sea on dry ground." – Exodus 14:21-22 (NIV)
If you’ve ever stood on the starting line of a race, waited at the gate for your boarding call, or sat on the bench until the coach finally called your name—you know the feeling.
Your heart races. The moment you’ve been anticipating is suddenly here.
It’s no longer “someday.” It’s now.
Spiritually, there are moments just like that. The season of waiting ends, and God says, “It’s time.”
For Moses and the Israelites, that moment came with the Red Sea in front of them and Pharaoh’s army behind them. There was no plan B—just God’s voice saying, Go forward. It didn’t make sense. The path wasn’t visible. But when they stepped in obedience, the impossible happened: the sea opened.
Here’s what we sometimes forget—when God says “Go,” He’s not sending you into the unknown unprepared. The same God who trained David in the fields before the throne, who prepared Esther in the palace before the moment, who strengthened Peter through failure before Pentecost… is the God who has been preparing you in ways you may not even see.
And when God says “Go,” He’s not just moving you—He’s already gone ahead. The doors you’ll need to walk through? He’s unlocking them. The people you’ll meet? He’s arranging those encounters. The strength you’ll need? He’s already planted it in you during the waiting season.
But here’s the thing—you’ll never see the sea part if you don’t take the step. Obedience is the hinge between the promise and the miracle.
Yes, fear will whisper, What if I fail? But faith shouts back, What if this is the moment I was made for?
So take the step. Make the call. Have the conversation. Say yes to the opportunity. Move in the direction He’s pointing, even if all you see right now is water.
Because when God says “Go,” He’s already made a way. And on the other side, you’ll look back and say, Why did I ever hesitate?
Reflection Questions:
Is there something you’ve been hesitating to do because it feels too risky or uncertain?
What signs do you see that God might be saying, “It’s time”?
How has He already prepared you for this step?
Prayer:
Lord, give me the courage to step forward when You say “Go.” Help me to trust that Your timing is perfect, Your path is prepared, and Your power will meet me in the moment I obey. Let my steps be bold, my heart be steady, and my eyes fixed on You. Amen.
Final Encouragement
A true warrior does not give up the battle. He may suffer, cry, smile, stumble, and rise again—but he never retreats. He presses forward, confident that God will give him the victory.
Even when you feel defeated and powerless to continue, always believe in God’s promise: He will never abandon you. He is your Shepherd, and with Him you have nothing to lose.
Trust in His infinite mercy. Even if you fall a thousand times, God has already prepared everything for you in His perfect time. Everything you’ve been fighting for—everything that has cost you tears, sweat, and even blood—He has seen.
God may take time, but He never forgets.
